Well, before you make up your mind to be left behind, let us share a few of our favourite new features after using <strong>Studio 2017<\/strong> for several months:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Advanced display filter<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0\u0096 You can finally filter for segments that include special characters! The greater flexibility of the advanced filter tool can come in handy in endless different scenarios, e.g. locking\/unlocking specific segment types, filtering for comment attributes, and picking out specific elements of document structure.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Whole TU match\/TU fragment match<\/strong><\/em> (<strong>upLIFT Fragment Recall<\/strong>) \u0096 You can now get subsegment matches in your search window and autosuggest. Setting the minimum number of words for fragments allows you to increase (shorter fragments) or decrease (longer fragments) the number of matches that will be suggested, with an associated increase\/decrease in noise. This functionality helps you work faster and increase consistency.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Microsoft Office embedded content<\/strong><\/em> \u0096 The ability to translate embedded content from Excel files (as well as other formats) is a huge benefit and we see this being an increasingly useful feature going forward. However, in its current form it can be a double-edged sword, so keep an eye on those word counts and consider whether you have the files you need available.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Fuzzy match repair<\/strong><\/em> (<strong>upLIFT Fuzzy Repair)<\/strong> \u0096 Probably our top new feature. Segments are repaired using termbases, TMs or even machine translation. Translation time really is reduced by simply editing and checking changes vs making the changes manually. Although it might not catch all grammatical nuances, it is certainly very useful and supports consistency.<\/p>\n<p>Our English Team Leader, Oliver had this to say about the new Studio 2017: \u0093<em>After a few months of use, I find that fragment matching really does help to maximise TM leverage<\/em>\u0094.<br \/>\nHe\u0092s not the only one on the team enjoying all the new features, \u0093<em>It\u0092s much faster to send complete translation units to the TM using the more flexible merge-segment functionality, rather than editing translation units after sending individual segments to the TM<\/em>\u0094, says Betsy.<\/p>\n<p>We hope this helps give you some insight into what <strong>Trados Studio 2017<\/strong> has to offer.
