We use trained professionals selected on the basis of client requirements and specialised in the press and marketing field.
Simultaneous interpreting is one of the main types of interpretation we offer, and differs slightly from consecutive interpreting. With simultaneous interpretation, interpreters convey what is being said in a discussion in real-time. This ensures there is no pause in conversation, and can be a quick and effective way in getting information across to the right person.
At Intrawelt, we pride ourselves on our simultaneous interpretation services. We can cater for both large and small events and pair you up with a highly skilled interpreter who knows your language and your industry inside and out.
What happens during simultaneous interpretation?
During simultaneous interpretation, it’s common to see interpreters wearing headphones, or equipped with other devices to help them in their work. This can help interpreters to stay focused and to block out noises and other environmental factors that could cause a distraction. In larger situations, an interpreter may have a microphone in order to convey a message to a much larger group of people at the same time.
The interpreter will interpret what the speaker says at the same time, or simultaneously. There will be no waiting time between the speaker giving their speech, and the interpretation of what is being said. However, a short pause is allowed for the interpreter to process the speech if needed.
How is simultaneous interpretation beneficial?
By interpreting simultaneously, you’ll get real-time results. The speaker can continue with their speech without the need to wait for the speech to be translated into a different language. With this type of interpretation, you can maintain the flow of a presentation or speech, making things much quicker and smoother for an audience.
With this type of interpretation, you can ensure the audience stays focused on the speech itself. They’ll give their full attention to the speaker so that they can understand the messages given and retain the information correctly.
Is simultaneous interpretation the right choice?
Simultaneous interpretation is perfect for a wide range of events including:
- Board meetings
- Large conventions
- Client meetings
However, simultaneous interpretation is not the best choice for a face-to-face conversation or situation, including the following:
- Training of staff
- Face-to-face appointments
Intrawelt can deliver on your simultaneous interpretation needs.
Through the exceptional language skills of our interpreters, you can ensure your event is as successful as it can possibly be. An interpreter can be a valuable asset to your business plan and can not only help you grow, but to also build solid relationships with others worldwide.
If you’re interested in our simultaneous interpreting services or you have questions about the process, you can call a member of the Intrawelt team on 0203 6572572 or send us an email to email@example.com.
How many days’ notice is required for a simultaneous or consecutive interpreting project?
For Italian and English we are able to manage requests received on the day of the event itself. For French, German and Spanish, one day’s notice is sufficient. For other languages, we may need two days’ notice.
Are microphones or other technical equipment required?
For simultaneous interpreting, a system is required with sound-proof booths for the interpreters and headphones for the listeners. If you prefer that the interpreter alternates with the speaker on stage (consecutive interpreting), no equipment is required, although the speakers and interpreters may use a PA system depending on the size of the venue.
Do you have sector-specialist interpreters?
Our interpreters are native-speakers carefully selected on the basis of their sector expertise, making them highly specialised professionals. It is however highly recommended to send us any available materials in advance which may be useful for the interpreter’s preparations.
How is data confidentiality guaranteed?
Our interpreters sign a confidentiality agreement. If you require further guarantees, please consult your Project Manager.
